Project Life - Weeks 22 and 23

Week 22:
Monday was Memorial Day.  We went to a cookout with several families from church, and there were a lot of little boys there that evening.  The boys had a big squirt gun fight outside after dinner.
Tuesday was the girls' state championship soccer game for our high school girls.  It rained off and on the whole time, and there was even a 30 minute delay because of lightning.
Our team lost 3-2 in overtime with a goal scored by our team, then taken away, an injury to one of our girls, and then a goal scored by the other team to end it.  Drew's friend, Vaida, was the girl that got hurt, and Drew went over to encourage her after the game.
Drew had his first Field Day this week.  He had a lot of fun!
He was excited to get his participation ribbon!
Jim grilled for all the kids and parents at Field Day.
 Thursday night was Kindergarten graduation,
and Friday night was Commencement for the seniors.  Jim was happy that both graduations went well, and he was so glad to get those done for the year!
The kids got balloons after graduation.
 Drew and Vaida after Commencement.
Here's what I did for Week 22.
Week 23:
The elementary awards ceremony was on Wednesday morning - the last day of school.  Drew made the A/B Honor Roll.  He had the highest grades in his class in every subject and all A's in first grade, except a B+ in Handwriting.  He did very well this year!
Drew had a great first grade teacher!
The guys had a squirt gun fight to celebrate summer.  Maddie just kept strolling through the fight, without a care in the world.
We drug the little swing set out of the storage shed for (probably) one last summer.  Drew is way too big for it, but Maddie is still enjoying it.
We got Drew a big tool chest to use for his Legos.  He spent a whole morning organizing them by size and type.  He had more than we had realized, but we are enjoying the new system.
I am having to get used to grocery shopping with both kids for the summer, and the race car carts at Kroger have helped that process to be a little less painful.  Drew does pretty well on quick trips, and Maddie is enjoying the little cars.
Krispy Kreme had free donuts for National Donut Day, so I took the kids to get donuts on Friday afternoon.
They both got donuts with sprinkles, naturally.  Afterwards, I dropped them off at Jim's mom's house for the evening, while Jim and I went out for dinner with friends.  Drew had a sleep-over at Grandma's that night.
The kids helped Jim wash the van on Saturday.
Maddie was covered with soapy water!
Drew helped her get that way!
Here's what I did for Week 23.
Here are Weeks 22 and 23 together.
I am planning to be back later this week with a fun new recipe to share.
